1. The purpose of territorial defense is to protect the population, objects of territorial defense and the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from enemy actions during mobilization, martial law and in wartime.

2. The tasks of territorial defense are:

1) protection and defense of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, settlements, protection of the population;

2) protection and defense of territorial defense facilities in accordance with territorial defense plans;

3) participation in ensuring martial law throughout the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan or in its individual localities;

4) participation in military operations, including in the border area of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

5) participation in the fight against amphibious and sabotage-reconnaissance forces of the enemy and terrorist groups;

6) conducting armed struggle in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan temporarily occupied by the enemy;

7) other tasks in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Territorial Defense dated June 30, 2025 No. 201-VIII SAM

This Law regulates public relations in the field of territorial defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
